85% Elephants in Kerala do not have the required proper documents. There is a lot of illegal  Elephant transfers. It will not be possible because of unethical transfer. Elephant owners do not have a legal ownership certificate as the elephants are not transferred according to the verdict of the Supreme Court. But they make money with elephants for buying and leasing out. Elephants facing deadly torture cases when an elephant arrives in their hands for the first time. The elephants do not give the elephants rest and continue to harass them, crumbling and bring them back to their command.

So the elephants become more dangerous, Most of the elephants in Kerala do not get proper care of any kind. Clean water and food are not available properly. At this point, the Elephant Lovers need to react and create awareness. It should start from school, also should start Colleges. The new generation doesn't recognize the slavery of elephants. They tend to forget everything in the competitions likes Head Lifting and Pooram.

20 Captive Elephants died in Last year (2017). More than two hundred wild elephants died due to the exodus of the people. The wild elephants migrate into the villages because of humans. The large population of wild elephants, Kerala has more than seven hundreds of elephants in captivity. Elephant owners used for religious ceremonies in and around the temples, and some churches and mosques also. Few Elephants works at Timber yards.

Now the situation is not good for captive Elephants in Kerala. Kerala unsafe for Captive Elephants, Elephants need to walk minimum 18 hours a day and should drink a lot of water. The absence of exercise, lack of food of their choice, and insufficient water intake can lead to many ailments. Exactly what happens in Kerala right now, who cares about elephants safety. Though Kerala has the most number of captive elephants in the country, But there are no regular surveillance or health check-ups are being conducted by the officials and Owners.

To be continued...
