NB:- This is not a criticism of "Gods in Shackles".
The purpose of this documentary was intended to protect elephants, released in January 2016.
The documentary has released in over three years back. And the Documentary "God's in Shackles" made from millions of Dollars collected from animal lovers all over the world who want to stop the Elephant torturing and abusing in Kerala. Unfortunately, the Captive Elephants in Kerala didn't get any benefit from this Documentary. But the documentary producer earned a lot of money and an undesirable reputation. This Million Dollar documentary hasn't come in front of the local peoples in Kerala. So, the Documentary is the biggest failure is pointing out. Elephant owners in Kerala, elephant Mahouts and even one of the Devaswom authorities haven't yet seen the documentary "God's in Shackles". The screening of "God's in Shackles" has done three or four centres in Kerala, but the local peoples didn't involve and presence in the documentary. The majority of people those who came from the HiFi society people. None of them is didn't actively involved in the Captive elephant tortures and abusing in Kerala. The captive elephants haven't got any benefited from this documentary, benefited only for Producer.
Before this documentary was released, there were 510 Captive Elephants in Kerala. After the documentary release, we've lost 132 Captive Elephants in Kerala. This documentary wasn't able to bring awareness to the common man. Why was this documentary made out of Million Dollar of money ? Instead, the money is used for the welfare of the captive elephants in Kerala, the captive elephants would not die here. After the release of the documentary "God's in Shackles", the number of Captive Elephant torturing cases registered in Kerala has been increased. In one of these cases, there is no intervention of "God's in Shackles" team. In this documentary, Except the Thiruvambadi Lakshmi, and TDB elephant Thiruvalla Jayaraj, and all the other elephants have died. The "God's in Shackles" producer benefited by shooting these depressed elephants. If there was a small part of the amount that was financed for the filming of the documentary, they could buy three elephants and save their life. So, That's why we don't believe in such peoples like this. This is just a Review to get out the truth, Not about blaming anyone.
